Aaron Mefford

Aaron Mefford is a starting Free Safety and Wide Receiver for the Knightstown Panthers in the Class of 2027. At 6’1”, 180 pounds, Aaron uses his size and frame efficiently on both sides of the ball, consistently playing with physicality and control at his positions.

Aaron possesses good speed that allows him to close space quickly on defense and get to his spots on offense. One of his biggest strengths is his vision. Defensively, he shows the ability to read and anticipate plays as they develop, putting himself in position to make timely stops and create turnovers. Offensively, his awareness allows him to find open windows and make himself available as a reliable target.

During his junior season, Aaron transitioned into the Free Safety position for the first time. Early in the season, he was still finding his footing and played more cautiously while learning the position. As the season progressed, his confidence continued to grow, allowing him to trust his instincts and play faster. By the end of the year, that confidence showed up on film, leading to multiple impact plays and improved consistency.
